COMET GAIN INFO PAGE by david feck
mailed to krs in march 2000.

OK right, this is how Comet Gain is right now. Just so you know. Our beautifully rampant drummer Darren went home to Belfast + is currently, I expect, drumming, drinking, dancing + out Darren-ing everybody. We hope he is cool. So M-J Taylor our sound guru genius is drumming + in the USA, Chrisser Appelgren of Peechees is. We've played some shows, some punk, some acoustic with films projected on our faces, "pierret le Fou" I think. We even played sober once or twice. I think we're coming soon to USA to help your economy. The ladies in the group wish to find love so be prepared/warned. We're in the middle of doing about 20 songs, I think 3 singles and an LP will appear, but I don't know where or when, the 1st in U.K. is "Mx DEFIANCE" + 2 for Track+Field label, a spinoff from the great North London club thats important right now in terms of being a place run in the right way (integrity to the top, good music, cheap, cosy) were we all meet + drink + plot + argue - about 5 bands have started from here + some fine nites. We all know good stuff, 'soul', 'punk' whatever is based on a foundation of fired up people stupid/beautiful enough to do clubs, zines, labels + not just play guitar. More of THAT + less banal groups (I'm thinking of london here) would be better. The new songs are far more mod punk/soul pop, rhythmic + immediate, we kinda rediscovered our old Goddard, Biff Band Pow, Jam, Impressions, Action, Kent soul records + only spent 1 day learning the songs to keep them more like eager children + it fitted the themes; there'll be a mini-lp too later of the slower 4am relatives. For those who sleep when the sun comes up. A tape only thing is available from me, David Christian, at #6 Oakfield Rd. W. Croydon, S. London, UK CRO ZVA at £2.50 or $ equivalence, cheques to be to Rachel Evans. I am without bank. never enough money to be worth it or in McCarthy's words 'use a bank, I'd rather die!' It features unreleased songs, radio sessions, covers, etc. Just to pre-empt the box-set I'm sure was coming. That's all for now. Any Londoners - vote for Ken Livingstone - a folk hero! Americans - stop calling it 'soccer'!

Other Info (probably dull/useless)
